The World Bank has been urged to support Somalia with more drought relief funds.
Somali officials made this call when they held a meeting with Victoria Kwakwa, the World Bank Vice President for Eastern and Southern Africa.
Kwakwa arrived in Mogadishu on Sunday for a series of meetings with Somali officials.
Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre led the Somali officials in presenting their case to the World Bank officials.
He encouraged the World Bank to continue undertaking its projects in the country.
“We encourage the World Bank to ensure that the projects it undertakes in Somalia are in line with our national priorities,” the Prime Minister added.
