Millions of Somali children will suffer acute malnourishment through 2024.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) issued this shocking warning in its latest report.
In the report published on October 10, OCHA added that the children need quick intervention.
The report indicates that 3.7 million Somalis in the country suffered acute food insecurity all the way into September 2023.
OCHA stated that the situation is likely to worsen due to a number of factors.
These include climate shocks, insecurity, and conflicts that continue to displace more families in different parts of the country.
The number of displaced persons in Somalia rose to 1.48 million in the first 8 months of the year.
