Ten Al-Shabaab militants were arrested for spying for the group while working for government agencies.
Daud Aweis, the Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, confirmed the arrest to the members of the fourth estate on Friday.
Aweis mentioned that officers from the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) arrested the spies.
He added that many other spies escaped before they could be arrested.
Nevertheless, the government has not given up but would continue the investigations with a view to arresting those who evaded capture.
