10 Deaths Reported as Two Explosions Rock Somalia

Authorities have reported 10 deaths from two separate explosions that rocked different parts of Somalia on Monday.

In the first incident, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) detonated at a busy restaurant in Beled Hawo town killing six people in the process.

Several people were injured in the Beled Hawo incident. They are currently in hospital receiving medical attention.

Elsewhere, four people died as Al-Shabaab fighters carried out a deadly attack in Gofgudud-Burey, which is in the Bay region.

In the Bay region attack, the Commissioner of Gofgudud-Burey was one of the four people reportedly killed in the second deadly terror attack.

The two attacks come barely a day after more than a dozen casualties were reported in an attack carried out by extremists in Mogadishu’s Elite Hotel.

Authorities are now under increasing pressure to guarantee the safety and security of all Somalis in the face of the latest onslaughts by Al-Shabaab militants.
