An operation carried out by security forces in Somalia led to the death of 100 Al-Shabaab fighters.
The operation by Somali National Army (SNA) officers took place on Wednesday.
Government sources confirmed that the military offensive was in Shabalow, Mudug.
Lately, the military has increased its operations in the region and the surrounding areas.
Meanwhile, Al-Shabaab also announced that it destroyed government troops in the same area.
According to Al-Shabaab, its militants killed 58 SNA soldiers in Shabalow.
The government is yet to confirm whether any of its troops were killed in the incident.
