117 Uganda Police Officers Embark on Training for AUSSOM

The Uganda Police Force has initiated a rigorous pre-deployment assessment for 117 officers, including 32 women, preparing them for their year-long assignment with the African Union Support and Stabilisation Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM).

The evaluation process includes critical skills assessments such as reading comprehension, report writing, driving, and shooting, ensuring their readiness for the mission.

These officers will be deployed as part of Specialized Police Teams (SPTs), tasked with contributing to peacekeeping and stabilization efforts in Somalia.

Their deployment underscores the African Union’s commitment to supporting Somalia’s security and governance during this transitional phase.
