Twelve people lost their lives when a massive storm hit Jubbaland’s coastal areas early on Saturday morning.
Eyewitnesses and local authorities confirmed that 12 people died in the morning incident while eight other individuals were reported missing.
Additionally, 21 boats capsized in the incident that has left locals shocked.
Authorities believe that the deadly storms are likely to have destroyed plenty of properties in the region too.
Recently, a national multi-hazard early warning center issued a warning of possible heavy rains and strong winds in the next few days.
The incident in Jubbaland appears to be the first of many that could hit not only the region but also other areas around the country.
