12 Somalia Presidential Aspirants Accuse Farmaajo of Seeking to Influence Electoral Outcomes

Several presidential aspirants in Somalia have accused President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo of “seeking to influence the electoral process and outcome.”

On Sunday, November 8, the 12 aspirants threatened to withdraw from the presidential race.

They accused President Farmaajo of filling the Federal Electoral Commission (FEC) with his cronies.

Some of the candidates who spoke today include ex-President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and ex-President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed.

Immediate former Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire also attended the event.

The aspirants said that they no longer had confidence in the electoral process since Farmaajo’s administration filled the electoral commission with civil servants and intelligence agents.
