More than 181,000 Somalis received lifesaving water from a combination of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) and international partners.
Funding for the project came from United Nations Central Emergency Response Fund (UNCERF) and the European Union Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid (ECHO).
The Somali government also provided funds for the project.
The lifesaving water was for Somalis who are victims of the ongoing drought.
Close to 2.8 million people in Somalia are at great risk from the continued lack of fresh and clean water for domestic use.
UNCERF, ECHO, and FGS worked with nongovernmental organizations and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to deliver lifesaving water in December 2021.
