AMISOM has trained 198 new recruits to join Somali Police Force (SPF). The AU-backed organization conducted the training in Hirshabelle State, Jowhar.
One hundred and ninety eight new recruits graduated from the training. Consequently, they will join the law enforcement forces in the region.
Police instructors from AMISOM trained the 198 recruits, who included 21 Somali women. All the trainees passed out in a ceremony conducted at Jowhar Police Academy.
The group was the third batch that AMISOM has trained. Henceforth, the recruits will be deployed in Middle Shabelle and Hiraan regions.
Together with this batch of trainees, 600 police officers have received their training from AMISOM, which is committed to training Somalis to maintain law and order in their country.
While passing out at the colorful ceremony, the new recruits displayed wide-ranging skills that included alertness, self-defense, and drills.
