Two members of the Al-Shabaab group surrendered to the military on Monday.
The Communication Department of the federal Ministry of Defense confirmed the defection of Derow Moallim Ibrahim and Hassan Hussein Ali from Al-Shabaab.
Ibrahim and Ali surrendered to government troops that were in Harardhere.
During their defection, they offered interesting reasons for taking the step.
The two stated that the ongoing operations by the military, which include air strikes, had created unfavorable conditions for them and their colleagues to operate.
