Several people who were injured in the deadly Balad Hawa clashes have been airlifted to Mogadishu for proper medical care.
Information from several sources indicates that the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) airlifted the injured to the capital city on Monday night.
Balad Hawa was caught up in two days of intense fighting that started on January 26.
Around 11 people were killed on Sunday and Monday.
Close to 20 of the people with the severest injuries are now in Mogadishu where they are expected to spend some time in hospital receiving quality medical attention.
Children casualties were also recorded in the last 48 hours as fighting in the border town escalated.
The government now says that it has regained full control of the region.
