More than 200 families that have been living in camps for the internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Puntland have now received title deeds.
Puntland authorities distributed title deeds to the displaced families on Monday, June 27.
Magatte Guisse, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Representative to Somalia, attended the handing-over ceremony.
Guisse said that the exercise was successful courtesy of strong partnerships by various stakeholders.
Apart from Puntland authorities, other stakeholders that had a role in the success of the exercise included UNHCR Somalia and NRC East Africa and Yemen.
The 200 displaced persons now have their own permanent land.
