Twenty-three Al-Shabaab terrorists died in a security operation carried out in Kismayo on Thursday.
Somali National Army (SNA) undertook the operation in several villages in Kismayo, the administrative capital of Jubbaland.
Two ringleaders were among those killed in the operation.
These are Gedi Warfa and Ahmed Ali Farah.
SNA troops have been in the region for some time now hunting down terrorists. Their latest operation lasted 24 hours.
