Five hundred gang members and robbers in Mogadishu have been arrested in ongoing operation to make the nation’s capital safe and secure.
Maj. Gen. Abdi Hassan Mohamed Hijar, the Chief of Somali Police Force (SPF), confirmed this to the public on July 29.
He told state media that security forces in the capital city have been carrying out a security operation designed to reduce crime rates and insecurity.
Thus far, police officers have arrested hundreds of gang members and robbers.
The SPF Chief confirmed that the operation would continue. He warned gang members and robbers to change their ways as his officers will not relent.
