9 Somali Officials Wanted on Graft Charges Flee the Country

Nine Somali officials who are wanted on graft charges have fled the country.

The Office of the Attorney-General stated that the nine public servants fled the country to avoid being arrested and arraigned in court.

AG Suleiman Mohamed Mahmoud provided these details on Thursday.

He said this in a press briefing carried out to provide the list of 18 government officials who are wanted for corruption.

Nine others remained in the country.

They are to be charged on charges that include forgery, embezzlement of public funds, theft, and corruption to mention a few.
