The son of the deceased Grand Sultan of Somaliland has taken over from his father who was buried on February 13.
Ut Sultan Mohamed Sultan Abdikadir, who is the late Grand Sultan’s eldest son, takes over his father titles with immediate effect.
The deceased Grand Sultan Mohamed Sultan Abdikadir died on Friday before being laid to rest in a colorful ceremony in Hargeisa.
After the burial ceremony, his son was installed as the new Grand Sultan of Somalia.
Furthermore, the deceased’s son is set to become a traditional elder in the footsteps of his father who was appointed into that office in 1975.
