Abdirahman Abdishakur has briefed international media on the ongoing drought in Somalia.
Abdishakur, who is Somalia’s Special Envoy for Drought Response, is currently in the United States for the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
On Tuesday, September 20, Abdishakur addressed the international media at the UNGA.
He briefed them on the current drought situation in the East African nation. Further, he called the world’s attention to the unfolding crisis.
The Special Envoy for Drought Response reminded the world of the importance of enhanced advocacy and raising awareness in attracting much-needed response.
