Abdirahman Abdishakur met with senior United Nations representatives to discuss drought response in Somalia.
Abdishakur, recently appointed the Special Envoy for Tackling Drought by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, met with the UN representatives on Saturday, May 28.
The meeting took place at the UN offices in Mogadishu.
James Swan and Adam Abdelmoula represented the UN at the meeting.
Swan is the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Somalia and the Head of the UN Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM).
Abdelmoula is the Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Somalia. He also serves as the UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Somalia.
They discussed ways of partnering to help millions of Somalis whose lives and livelihoods are at risk because of the ongoing drought.
