Acting Prime Minister Demands Justice for Clerics Killed in Middle Shabelle

Somalia’s Acting Prime Minister has expressed shock and outrage at the senseless killings of five Muslim clerics in Middle Shabelle.

Reports from the region indicate that the clerics were killed by armed militia while reading and reciting the Holy Quran.

Reasons for their deaths have not been forthcoming.

However, local authorities and witnesses believe that the clerics were killed from an ongoing tribal conflict in the region.

Mahdi M. Gulaid, the Acting Prime Minister, sent his deepest condolences to the friends and family of the slain clerics.

He also expressed sympathies with the people of Middle Shabelle.

Further, he called upon authorities to embark on speedy investigations to ensure that the culprits are presented in court to answer for their crimes.
