Acute Food Crisis Could Affect over 6.5 Million People in Somalia

An acute food crisis could hit Somalia soon.

A report from Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) shows that the situation in Somalia is quite dire.

Its latest report shows that 6.6 million Somalis could experience acute food crisis.

IPC added that over 1.8 million children are at risk of acute malnourishment too.

Further, the report adds that 477,700 children could be severely malnourished unless urgent measures are taken to change the situation.

The crisis is expected to peak in June 2023.
