African Union (AU) has commended Galmudug for electing its new President, Ahmed Abdi Kariye.
During the recent elections, Galmudug State elected several other leaders apart from its new president.
The elections happened after the Federal Government of Somalia and AMISOM sent security forces to Dhusamareeb to assist in creating a conducive environment for holding elections.
Furthermore, AMISOM hailed the decision to host a reconciliation conference that brings all warring parties in the country together to discuss the future of the war-torn nation.
AMISOM issued a press release commending all that has happened. It also clarified that a lot needs to be done to make the East African nation safe and secure for all.
