The United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) confirmed that its officers carried out two airstrikes on Al-Shabaab compounds in Kunyo-Barow.
AFRICOM confirmed this amid reports from Kunyo-Barow that twin airstrikes at a compound hosting the offices of Al-Furqan Radio damaged property of unknown value.
The incident took place on Friday, January 1, 2021.
Latest reports from the region indicate that no person was injured. Furthermore, no deaths were reported either.
AFRICOM carried out the latest attack during a month when it is expected to carry out full withdrawal of its troops from the East African nation.
