Air Djibouti Plane that Crash-Landed at Garowe Airport Removed

A plane belonging to Air Djibouti that made an emergency landing at Garowe Airport has been removed.

Sources indicate that the plane developed a problem on one of its tyres forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing at the regional airport on December 2.

The plane, Boeing 737-500, had to make an impromptu landing on Wednesday to avoid a more disastrous mishap.

It was the fourth plane to develop mechanical problems in Somalia in 2020.

Personnel from the Puntland Ministry of Civil Aviation worked tirelessly to remove the plane from the runway and ensure that Garowe Airport is ready to receive more planes.

The airport would be reopened for business on Sunday, December 6.
