Al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility for the attack that killed the Mogadishu police commander on Friday.
Brigadier General Farhan Mohamoud Aden died in a massive explosion that took place near Bal’ad town earlier today.
The explosion occurred in a town that is around 30kms to the north of Mogadishu.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that a local journalist also lost his life in the incident that left local residents and security agencies shocked.
Al-Shabaab admitted that it was responsible for the attack.
It used social media accounts that its militants run to inform the world of its responsibility in setting the bomb off.
