Al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility for planting the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) that exploded and killed four soldiers of African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) early this week.
The Al-Qaeda linked group said that its militants were responsible for the incident, which took place in Elasha Biyaha in Lower Shabelle.
Furthermore, the group said that it had accomplished its mission of killing AMISOM soldiers.
AMISOM officials and representatives of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) are yet to comment on the deadly incident.
Al-Shabaab fighters have suffered extensive losses in personnel from late last year to this year following multiple military operations by Somali National Army (SNA) and AMISOM forces.
United States Command in Africa (AFRICOM) has also conducted several attacks against Al-Shabaab in different parts of the country.
