Several Al-Shabaab militants were arrested in a covert military operation organized by Somali National Army (SNA) forces in Lower Shabelle.
The operation took place on January 9, 2021.
Major Ahmed Abdullahi, Commander of the Danab Special Forces, confirmed the Saturday arrest and operation.
He stated that the 16th Danab Commando Unit organized the operation.
Maj. Abdullahi, also known as Beer-Yare, confirmed that Special Forces not only spotted but also defused Vehicle-Based Improvised Explosive Devices (VBIEDs).
The covert operation was the latest by government troops against Al-Shabaab.
Abdullahi said that the Commando Unit seized three Al-Shabaab militants during the Saturday crackdown in Toratorow.
