Danab Forces conducted a sophisticated military operation in Central Somalia, which led to the capture of several Al-Shabaab militants.
The elite US-trained forces carried out their operation in War-Galo Town, which is located 75kms to the east of Galkayo Town.
The operation is part of the efforts by African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM), US Africa Command (AFRICOM), and Somalia National Army (SNA) to restore normalcy in the country.
Monday’s operation was the latest by the elite forces, who have been engaging Al-Shabaab militants in various parts of the country to eradicate their influence and presence.
Apart from capturing members of the Al-Qaeda linked group, the Danab Forces have also seized explosives and various sophisticated weapons from the extremists.
Nevertheless, SNA officials are yet to disclose the exact number of militants captured in Monday’s operation.
