Al-Shabaab never killed 178 Somali National Army (SNA) soldiers as claimed.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud refuted the reports by Al-Shabaab that the attack at Oswein resulted in the deaths of hundreds of military officers.
In a press interview issued on Tuesday, the President vehemently denied these reports.
Instead, he assured the terrorists of the government’s unwavering commitment to eradicating them from all parts of the country.
In his interview, President Mohamud mentioned that 190 Al-Shabaab fighters died in Oswein.
He called upon all Somalis to recognize the efforts and sacrifices of the SNA heroes involved in the ongoing operations against Al-Shabaab militants.
