An Al-Shabaab operative has surrendered to Somali National Army (SNA) troops in Baidoa.
Mohamed Fanah, who has worked as Al-Shabaab’s foreman, surrendered to SNA troops in the Southwest administrative capital on April 13.
While surrendering himself, Fanah stated that he had been a member of the militia group for the last five years.
Fanah denounced the group’s ideology while surrendering himself on Wednesday.
He also rejected violent extremism.
