Al-Shabaab has promised to issue a scorecard on President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo’s first term in office.
Farmaajo’s first term expires on February 8, 2021.
Ideally, the country should be holding presidential elections on or before February 8 but this looks increasingly unlikely.
Now, the Al-Qaeda linked group has vowed to release a report card with details of Farmaajo’s performance in the last four years.
Farmaajo has promised to vie in the upcoming elections.
It is not clear when the militia group plans to release the scorecard.
Secondly, there is no hint as to what the scorecard would entail or what Al-Shabaab would cover in the report.
For a long time, Farmaajo has faced intense criticism that he has close relations with Al-Shabaab.
