At the Somalia Strategic Communication Forum held in Mogadishu, Ambassador Souef Mohamed El-Amine, the Special Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (SRCC) and the Head of the AU Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) delivered his address on Sunday.
In his speech, Amb. El-Amine emphasized the importance of promoting positive narratives to enhance Somalia’s global image.
He highlighted two key milestones when addressing participants at the forum.
First, he spoke of Somalia’s recent entry into the East African Community (EAC), which underscores the nation’s commitment to regional integration and economic collaboration.
Secondly, he touched on Somalia’s aspiration for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), reflecting its ambition to play a more active role in international diplomacy and decision-making.
These achievements, Amb. El-Amine noted, convey strong and optimistic signals to the international community, reinforcing Somalia’s progress, resilience, and aspirations for a brighter future.
