Somalia’s Ambassador to Egypt, Ali Abdi Aware, recently hosted North Korea’s Ambassador, Ma Tong-hui, at the Somali Embassy in Cairo.
Their discussion focused on the potential resumption of diplomatic relations between Somalia and North Korea.
Historically, the two countries maintained diplomatic ties, with Somalia’s former President Mohamed Siyad Barre having visited North Korea twice during his tenure.
This meeting, which was on Friday, signals an interest in rekindling the relationship between both nations.
