African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) is to work closely with the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Center (KAIPTC) to train officers.
The five-day training is for senior security officers.
The KAIPTC officers, who are from Ghana, will be conducting the training entitled Monitoring Evaluation and Learning for Peace Support Operations in Africa (MELPAC).
African Union’s Political Affairs Peace and Security (PAPS) is responsible for facilitating the training.
The United Nations Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS) has also joined hands with the other organizations to make the training successful.
Simon Mulongo, the Deputy Head of AMISOM, attended the opening ceremony.
While delivering his speech, Mulongo said that the training was important for equipping officers with the best practices for improved service delivery.
