The African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) has conducted prevention of gender-based violence (GBV) training in Kismayo, the administrative capital of Jubaland.
The five-day training ended on November 19.
According to AMISOM, the training also focused on response to sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV).
Gloria Jaase, AMISOM’s Protection Officer, stated that the Training of Trainers workshop targeted 25 individuals from Jubaland.
The 25 attendees included 15 men and 10 women.
Jaase mentioned that the training sought to improve the knowledge that professionals have on preventing conflict-related SGBV.
