The African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) has donated personal protection equipment (PPEs) to Hiran’s administration.
AMISOM made the donation through its officers on Wednesday, November 4.
The donation also featured sanitary supplies to health workers and vulnerable communities in Beledweyne.
AMISOM’s officers who delivered the donation stated that it should support efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in the region.
Furthermore, the PPEs and sanitary supplies are for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in 30 camps in the region.
The sanitary supplies included soaps, shampoos, jerry cans, and temperature guns.
Hussein Osman Ali, Hiran’s Deputy Governor, expressed gratitude to AMISOM for continuously supporting local authorities to provide the people in the region with quality healthcare.
Ibrahim Yussuf Ahmed, a Sector IV CIMIC Officer, handed the donation over to the representatives of the local administration on behalf of AMISOM.
He said that Sector IV contingent would continue supporting local residents with donations that include sports items, such as footballs.
