African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) forces detonated plenty of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in Jowhar.
The AMISOM troops were in HirShabelle on Friday, August 13.
They worked along the road that connects Jowhar airfield to the town center.
Several locals watched the soldiers at work from a distance and expressed their admiration to the soldiers for the good job.
Militants in the region have planted hundreds of IEDs at different places in the region.
The IEDs target military officers working for Somali National Army (SNA) and AMISOM. Innocent people are often targeted in IED attacks too.
AMISOM’s Burundi contingent performed this task.
