AMISOM has reported that the Ethiopian military is responsible for shooting down the African Express in Bardale, Somalia.
An AMISOM Force Commander published an incident report showing Ethiopian troops saying they brought down the plane because of fears that it was on a suicide mission.
The news comes hot on the heels of reports indicating that Kenya was displeased with the crash, which killed all the six people on board the plane earlier this week.
Francisco Madeira, the AMISOM Force Commander who prepared the report, said, “The troops shot it down because they thought it was attacking the base camp on a suicide mission.”
However, Madeira put the number of people killed in the crash as five, which contradicts reports indicating that six people had died.
His report indicated the nationalities of the dead as three Kenyans and two Somalis.
