African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) has started training security forces in Somalia to prepare for the upcoming elections.
The 2-day training was for Somali National Army (SNA) and Jubbaland Regional Forces.
The training ended on Friday, October 30.
SNA and Jubbaland regional soldiers were trained on international humanitarian law, gender rules, and human rights.
The SNA and Jubbaland forces have clashed severally over the years, especially in Gedo region.
During the training, the soldiers were educated on the importance of working together to ensure that local residents enjoy peace and security.
Soldiers were informed how their clashes and inability to work collaboratively is detrimental to the security of the region.
