African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) sent its police officers to HirShabelle to evaluate the ongoing police training.
HirShabelle police have been receiving training and mentoring from AMISOM’s Police Unit for some time.
Augustine Magnus Kailie, the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP), led the delegation from AMISOM to Beletweyne on February 22.
Kailie, who is also the AMISOM Police Commissioner, expressed satisfaction with the collaboration between his officers, local civilians, and regional police officers.
AMISOM deployed Individual Police Officers (IPOs) and Formed Police Unit (FPU) to the HirShabelle capital to improve the capacity of the local police.
Kailie encouraged the local police to perform their jobs well and be ready for the upcoming polls – presidential and parliamentary – that require their utmost best.
