The Deputy Force Commander of African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) held a meeting with senior commanders from Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF).
Major General Gerbi Regassa Kebede, AMISOM’s Deputy Force Commander, held the meeting with AMISOM’s Commanders from the UPDF contingent on January 15.
Maj. Gen. Kebede’s meeting with the commanders was part of his ongoing familiarization visits.
He recently took over as the Deputy Force Commander in charge of Support and Logistics.
Maj. Gen. Kebede, who is from Ethiopia National Defense Force (ENDF), replaced Maj. Gen. George Owinow.
His predecessor, Maj. Gen. Owinow, was from the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF).
Brigadier Don Nabasa led the Ugandan contingent that met with Maj. Gen. Kebede on Friday at the headquarters of Uganda’s AMISOM contingent in Mogadishu.
