Mogadishu has been rocked by anti-government protests, which kicked off on Monday, December 15.
Somali security agents rushed to the streets to contain the protests.
The protests come at a time of great uncertainty in the East African nation where opposition leaders have accused the Federal Government of Somalia of shoddy preparations for elections.
On Monday morning, Somali National Army (SNA) troops blocked various routes around the nation’s capital.
The protesters raised placards condemning the government of President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo for planning to delay elections.
On Tuesday, the protests grew stronger thus forcing authorities to deploy soldiers to the streets to prevent possible clashes with pro-government supports.
