Army commanders held discussions with President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Wednesday in Mogadishu.
The commanders, who included Brig. Gen. Ibrahim Muhiyidin, the Somali National Army (SNA) chief, briefed the President on the progress of the ongoing operations against Al-Shabaab.
Senior military officers who attended the meeting included the commanders of navy and air force.
The Deputy Commander of the Somali Land Forces was also present at the briefing, which took place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense.
