The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Astaan TV has been released from a prison in Hargeisa, where he had been serving a five-year sentence.
Abdimanan Yusuf, Astaan TV’s owner, was sentenced to a five years imprisonment on November 4.
The sentencing came after he had been detained for almost five months following his arrest on July 24.
Reports from Hargeisa indicate that he was released on Thursday, December 10.
It is not yet clear why the government decided to set him free.
There has been no official communication from any government official over his release. He is also yet to speak on this issue.
