ATMIS and SNA Intensify Security Patrols in Middle Shabelle against Al-Shabaab

The African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) has intensified joint security patrols in Middle Shabelle against Al-Shabaab.

ATMIS’ Burundian contingent work closely with the Somali military to ensure that the area remains safe and secure, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.

Maj. Ntakarutimana Thierry, the Commander of the Burundi National Defense Force (BNDF) at the forward operating base (FOB) confirmed the increased patrols.

He stressed the importance of joint collaboration between ATMIS and local forces to protect the residents and infrastructure of the region.

Captain Hassan Fiddow of the SNA reiterated the military’s dedication to collaborate further with the ATMIS troops in safeguarding the region.
