ATMIS and SNA Troops to Take IED Threat Mitigation Course

African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) and Somali National Army (SNA) troops are scheduled to take an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Threat Mitigation Course.

The British Peace Support Team (BPST) in Africa announced this on July 22.

According to BPST (A), the ATMIS and SNA soldiers will take the course that the British team would facilitate together with the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS).

BPST (A) and UNMAS are both part of Operation TANGHAM Mission Support Team.

The two facilitating organizations hope that the course would help ATMIS and SNA personnel in charge of operations to reduce the threat that IEDs pose.
