ATMIS Congratulates SNA for Liberating Adan Yabaal

The African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) has congratulated Somali National Army (SNA) for liberating Adan Yabaal from the hands of Al-Shabaab terrorists.

Ambassador Mohamed El-Amine Souef, the Special Representative of the Chairperson of the Commission (SRCC), spoke on the matter on Tuesday.

He commended SNA troops for liberating Adan Yabaal, a strategic town in Middle Shabelle, from the terrorists.

The town has been under the control of the terrorists for years.

On Monday, December 5, a joint operation between SNA and local fighters led to the recapture of the town by the government.

Souef said that Al-Shabaab has continuously used the town as its training ground.

“We applaud the bravery of the SNA soldiers,” Souef said.

He added that the recapture of Adan Yabaal proves that the ongoing military operations are effective at delivering effective, destructive, and decisive blows against the terrorists.
