The African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) has handed over a new police station to the HirShabelle authorities.
ATMIS officials handed over the newly constructed police station, which is at Jowhar Airport, to the HirShabelle authorities on June 24.
During the handing-over ceremony on Friday, ATMIS officials announced that it constructed the police station as part of its Quick Impact Projects (QIPs).
The Indian government played a critical role in the construction of the police station after providing the funds needed to put it up.
