A meeting by the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) to review its operations in Somalia has kicked off in Uganda.
The four-day meeting has attracted ATMIS top brass as well as the Chiefs of Defense Forces of all countries contributing their troops to the organization.
Participants will discuss several issues.
Top on the list is likely to be the scheduled withdrawal of the ATMIS forces by the end of the year.
ATMIS starts to pull out from the East African nation on June 30, 2023.
The pullout then runs until December 31, 2023.
