African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) troops planted trees in Jowhar as part of the reforestation campaign.
The Burundian contingent planted the trees on Sunday.
The tree-planting exercise took place at the Jowhar Airfield.
Brig. Gen. Jean Claude Niyiburana, who leads the Burundi National Defense Force (BNDF), led his troops in the exercise.
Officials from the ATMIS Police Unit and the United Nations Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS) were at the event too.
